It's performed well up to my expectations until recently now that i've been trying to do more of my 3d simulator running and video capturing in 2560x1440. You might look. I have the infamous 2006/2007 Mac Pro but had to use Piker Alfa BootEFI ROM to get Yosemite to load. Yes no boot screen. I tried using the the original card but it would go bonkers as I was using a stock GT630 which all the ports worked DVI, VGA and HDMI with the Mac OS X drivers. Its may be possible to flash the card but look. They have a lot of info that you could use.So what you do loose and I am sure you are aware is the Single User Mode, Recovery Partition and the Start up Manager (Option key at startup) which use the native graphics drivers.Lou Cioccio.
